Family corporation and history

Our mission is safety, our value is family

Sähkö-Jokinen Oy's operation started in 1968 as a one-man installation service. When promising growth emerged, electrician Antti Jokinen expanded operations to road light contracts. Through experience Sähkö-Jokinen developed a light pole base with a unique mounting method. Base production was started in Noormarkku in 1982.

After the family business had grown and expanded for 20 years, the management responsibilities were handed over to Antti Jokinen's children. The development work of impact-safe light poles started in 1992. The first prototype was made at the companys own factory in 1994. Export to other countries started a couple of years later.

Today, thousands of KAPU® poles provide light and safety all over Europe.

Product development and production

Safety of road users and new innovations are our driving forces. Our guiding principles have been durability and easy installation of our products.

To ensure quality we manufacture all our products in our own production plant in Noormarkku, Finland. Our automated production line and effective production methods ensure that our products have uniform quality and precise dimensions.

We follow the ISO 9001:2000 quality system. In addition, our KAPU® product family has earned the CE marking, which guarantees that the quality requirements set for the products are fulfilled.

Protection through patents

Our products and production methods are protected with several patents. Light poles that remain flexible or give way in a collision situation have made us a market leader. The shaped plastic openings for cables in the bases were also created as the result of SähköJokinen's own product development work.
