Member of Parliament Matias Marttinen visited Sähkö-Jokinen’s operations and business environment on Thursday, November 3 2022 in Noormarkku.
The visit got off to a great start with a company presentation, where Marttinen learned about the history and culture of Sähkö-Jokinen. Of course, the presentation also covered our products, production and industry as a whole.
After the presentation, we discussed the general market situation and export activities in the industry, and touched on labour market policy. On the product side, Marttinen was particularly interested in the 5G smart pole we developed for the RESPONSE project, as well as the scope and diversity of our electric car charging infrastructure partners.
A safety message for road transport policymakers
Furthering road safety emerged as a shared interest during the visit. In our conversation, we raised concerns about the lack of lighting on motorways. High speeds and busy stretches of road should be improved, and lighting is a critical factor.
It was important to pass this message on to Marttinen, who is a deputy member of the Transport and Communications Committee and meets regularly with the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (FTIA) management team, among others. As we presented our family business, we also felt a great sense of pride as he marveled at the specialised expertise that can be found in our region.
MP Marttinen’s visit was highly meaningful for Sähkö-Jokinen, and we consider it one of the most significant events in our company’s 55-year history.
