The 2023 Housing Fair took place in Loviisa in July and August. The new Kuningattarenranta neighborhood, situated on the eastern shore of Loviisanlahti, served as its exhibition area. For illumination, the aim was to install a striking set of lighting poles to suit the forested seaside surroundings. The goal was to find a lighting pole solution that was cost-effective, easy to maintain, and environmentally sustainable.
With these desires in mind, the design and implementation of the lighting poles was commissioned from Sähkö-Jokinen, whose co-operation with the client went smoothly from start to finish. As a result, the housing fair’s exhibition area was lit with the new ELEMENT series hybrid lighting poles.
ELEMENT blends in
ELEMENT is a 9-metre tall decorative lighting pole, with a lower section in antique silver and an oak-coloured upper. Its lower section and lighting arm are made from Ø170 mm hot-dip galvanised steel, which then receives a specialty textured powder coating. The oak-coloured upper, however, is made from aluminium and coated with the Decoral system to resemble wood.
In the spirit of its seaside location, the arm of the pole was shaped to represent a sail. An even stronger connection to the natural environment was communicated with a wrought iron-like lower section and a wood pattern on the upper. These materials also met the client’s need for ease of maintenance. The result was a striking, modern lighting pole that was an excellent fit for the exhibition area.
ELEMENT series hybrid lighting poles are fit for many environments and all kinds of conditions. Thanks to their visual appeal, they’re well suited for lighting parks, residential areas, city centres, and more. In addition to their durability and long lifespan, these poles are maintenance-free and an environmentally sustainable choice. Decoral poles can be supplied with various wood-tone patterns to create the impression of natural wood.
