Sähkö-Jokinen Oy started its operations as a one-man installation company in 1968. With promising growth, the founder, electrical engineer Antti Jokinen, expanded the company operations to road light contract work. With his skills and experience, Antti Jokinen developed a lighting pole base with a unique mounting technology. Base production was started in Noormarkku in 1982.
After expanding and growing the business for 20 years, Antti Jokinen handed the company over to his children. The development of collision-safe lighting poles begun in 1992. The first piece of the new innovation was produced at the company factory in 1994. Only a few years later, the company was exporting the product abroad.
Today, Sähkö-Jokinen is known as a significant and reliable light mast and light pole supplier. Tens of thousands of KAPU® poles are lighting the roads and increasing safety all across Europe.
A Fresh Perspective from New Ownership
At the beginning of 2024, a significant change occurred in Sähkö-Jokinen’s ownership structure when Karnell Finland Oy acquired a majority stake in the company. Karnell Finland Oy is an investment firm specializing in supporting growing and developing businesses. Its background and expertise bring substantial added value to Sähkö-Jokinen’s operations. Following the acquisition, the company’s organization is also undergoing a transformation, as the Jokinen siblings are stepping down from the company’s operational management due to planned arrangements and retirements.
Ville Nieminen will assume the role of CEO on September 1, 2024, transitioning from his position as Sales Director. With transitional support from Lasse and Ville’s diverse experience, Ville is well-prepared to further develop the company and create new success stories! Ville firmly believes in the importance of employee commitment and involvement in building the company’s success.
